If you want to make more money from your business, one important thing to do is get more people who buy from you, and to do that you need to know how to advertise your business correctly. Making an effective ad for your small business is one of the best things you can do, and it’s not difficult if you follow some simple rules.

You also need to remember there are more advertising options than the internet, regardless of what the web gurus says. In fact, relying on one method of producing a new business is a dangerous thing to do, no matter which method you use. You need to diversify, and so here …

Five ways to get more business now

1. Write an article for the local press. This is the fact that the local press desperately needs content to fill their pages, and if you can give them a good story, they will be happy to print it. You might think you have nothing to say, but you are experts in your business and your service problems, and that’s what people want to read. Writing articles on the local press also marks you as experts – and it yourself can be enough to produce many new businesses for you.

2. Write a book. This might sound like a big effort, but it’s actually not. This book must be offered fifty pages, and that is enough to make you an expert in your field. You can get this printed very cheaply, and then give it as a tin generator.

3. Write a press release. Every time your business does something, creates something, anything … You have to write a press release and send it to newspapers and magazines. You need to give them a good story, but with a little thought that is usually possible. Most of the time you won’t get anything back from the release, but when someone takes you can be flooded with publicity, and it’s almost always leading to more business.

4. Get interviews as “experts” on TV or local radio stations (or even nationally). Just like writing a press release, you must have a good story to be told, but there is usually a score of things you can talk about, and sometimes only one interview that can bring business flood.

5. Get interviewed by other business owners. If a free business has a list of customers, it’s very easy to do teleseminars and invite people to ask questions. You can even record the problem, and then give it as the main generator.

The great thing about all this advertising method is that they are low cost, can be put into actions quickly, and the most important of all, work. Even better, once you get people to come to your business, you can capture their details and start selling to them via email, postcards, and direct letters – very good advertising strategies to produce more business.
